About the event
Injury prevention is an important issue for all athletes, but differently abled athletes often have pre-existing ranges of complex impairments which pose additional challenges to safe sport competition. In addition, gaining access to healthcare services and rehab may be more challenging. Given the additional barriers to their involvement, it is essential that measures are taken to help better understand injury prevention and make basketball safer for athletes with a disability.
Keynote speaker, Scott Robertson, will cover topics that address injury prevention and common basketball injuries. Exercises that will keep differently abled athletes functioning optimally will be demonstrated as well.
This 45-minute interactive seminar will be followed by a question-and-answer segment. There will be a 30-minute open gym session following the seminar where athletes will receive a risk assessment while they practice.
If you cannot attend the session in-person, please register for the LIVE Stream.
